I have decided to take a longer break than usual from karate but my time is precious and will be dedicated into many other projects I have going on.

Over the last few months it has been really hard/busy and as a consequence my mental health has suffered tremendously. It is not always a injury that you can see , but can be the worst kind of injury. There is no predetermined time on recovery for the mind.

There are many situations that have happens behind closed door away from the tatami . As a result of this , now is the time I need to reflect and process everything in order to come back stronger

Please take care of your mental health , it is the most important part of you to look after . It is okay not to be okay . It is okay to take the time you need for yourself . It is okay to talk about it. You are stronger than you think and are never alone. There is always someone you can talk to .
Remember , you are brave , powerful and one of a kind ♥️!

Closing Ceremony Olympic Games

What an honor to be chosen by Swiss Olympic as their flag bearer.

Official Statement of Swiss Olympic:

On Monday, the last athletes will return to Switzerland. First, however, the Swiss delegation will take part in the closing ceremony in the Olympic Stadium, with which the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games officially end. While fencer Max Heinzer and track and field athlete Mujinga Kambundji carried the Swiss flag at the opening ceremony, Elena Quirici will take over this task at the closing ceremony. The Aargauerin had missed in the first and as of today also last Olympic karate tournament the semi-final very narrowly and finally came in 5th place. "The fighting spirit with which Elena Quirici paved her way to the Olympic Games and her courageous performance at the Olympic tournament fascinated me. She is thus a role model for many female athletes in our country and has earned the role as flag bearer," says Ralph Stöckli about his decision.

What an honor and I will never forget this moment for the rest of my life. Thank you for letting me experience this.

Olympic Diploma - 5th Place

I gave my heart in every fight and gave all I had. Sometimes it is enough and sometimes not. Happy with my performance. 💪🏼🤩

You could see in the Interview how emotional I was, it hurted so much that I could not achieve my dream and that I was so near of it..😐 I wanted to bring back the medal to Swiss 🇨🇭, to my people ♥️
I did some little mistake but that is part of the Game.. now I have some things to continue work for.

But now I want to thank you all for all your support and love♥️. I can't be happier to have so many good people around me. Thank you for all the kind messages that made me cry and touched my heart.
I really love you all very much and I am glad to have you.

After a long long time my new website is finally ready. It was a challenge to achieve this, because I don't have so much time besides sports.
Thank you Samuel for all your patience and work, I am really happy with the result.

Torneo de Selecciones, Palma del Rio

1. Place +61kg

Another opportunity to fight again in Spain. I could participate in a national tournament, there was fought in the Olympic weight categories. It was the first time that I started in this category. This was important for me to compete with the higher weight category as well.

I am happy that I can finish this difficult and complicated year with a gold medal.

These two tournaments gave me great motivation and were a good assessment for the new season.

Club Championship Spain

1. Place Team

Fighting again for the first time after 9 months was amazing. I think I was beaming the whole fight because I was so happy.

I was able to participate in the Spanish Club Championship with my second club in Spain and I won. It was a really good feeling to finally fight again and to feel the tension before a tournament.

Time Out

I have been waiting for a tournament since the end of February. Little by little, all tournaments have been canceled. Now it's a fact that I will not compete again in an international tournament until February or March 2021, that is more then 1 year after my last international tournament. I train hard that I am ready as soon as a possibility arises.

Sometimes you lose motivation without tournaments, but I try to motivate myself every day and enjoy the training.
